As a rule of thumb, I always do EQs by cutting frequencies. Rarely do I boost any given frequency above the default 0db line.

But if I did boost a frequency above that line on the Empeg, and I decided to play the Empeg at 0db volume, and the song was 100 percent normalized, would I be clipping the output in spots?

Or does the EQ design prevent that from happening? How does it work?
