As I read somewhere here about 2 weeks ago rob told that the AR-coated frontplates are shipping now. I was already invited to order one for free and I wrote a mail to [email protected]. I got a positive answer to this mail. This has been about 1 or 2 months ago now but till now I haven't got an AR-coated frontplate. Aren't they shipped yet?

How are the things with the tuner and the 1.1 and the VR going on...

i just got my new ar faceplate in the mail a day or two ago. it was a pleasant surprise since i didn't have any idea it was coming.

Does Empeg use AR coating only on new MK2 faceplates, I ordered new MK1 faceplate over a week ago? Wonder if that one is going to be AR coated too or not.

Maybe, it looks quite nice actually. I just have not seen any MK2 to compare.

As far as I know, the Mk1 faceplates have always been AR coated. The problem was that the new manufacturing process for the MK2 faceplates made AR coating difficult.

The new AR panel for the MK2 is very nice. It gives a smoother look when the player is off, and when it's on it does a good job of dealing with direct sunlight. As far as I can see it doesn't degrade the quality of the screen.

So yes, all empegs are now AR coated (or can be if you ask for it on the MK2).
