silvercas member Registered: 23/10/2000 Posts: 162	i already have this one for our laptops http://www.smc.com/wireless/ . Do I just get another bridge, maybe this one, and plug it into my mk2 and its wireless? Or since I have this one is there a cheaper one that will work with this one? Thanks Alan

Unless you can track down a usb wireless ethernet adapter, but then you will have all sorts of fun getting it to work. I have seen a simple unit that connects to an existing ethernet port, I cant remember who but for some reason the Apple Airport jumps into my head, can anyone else verify this? _________________________ 2x160Gb MkII Lighted Buttons 080000449

cpayne new poster Registered: 10/11/2000 Posts: 3	Proxim's Symphony line has a wireless-to-Ethernet bridge. Just a box with an antenna and an RJ-45. I have the pre-HomeRF model and it worked well. At the other end you can use their PCMCIA or USB adapters. If you don't care about HRF compatibility there are also PCI and ISA adapters. Of course, while this all sounds cool, and I know it's possible, I don't see all that much of a use. I use the empeg to play MP3s on my computer now, and it's not very hard to bring inside. Call me lazy, (you're lazy!) but I'd rather update my empeg without pulling it out of the car. In a perfect world, it would support shared access and I could make it a node on the Internet. :) John

This isn't a shipping commercial solution yet (although it's well within the abilities of many people here to install such a setup) but it does give rise to thought. Personally, I'm looking forward to 3Gen mobile phones - things will start to get really interesting then! Rob
