Does anyone know if the empeg/rio car players supports voice activation as of right now?

Quick answer : No

Long answer : empeg is still working on finding decent software to integrate into the player. Several things keep them from putting an off the shelf solution into the player. One is that the car environment is much more complex. The software has to deal with the noise of the player, and the car.

Time frame is still down the road quite a bit. empeg is working on the 1.03 software, then the finishing touches on 1.1 (1.1 is a major change from 1.02, search the BBS for features). After that, they will probably be working on the VR software quite a bit. Don't expect anything for the next few months at a minimum.
