I was looking at digital cameras today and found this amazing-looking building (scroll down to "EXR Priority - Extreme Creativity"). There's some better pics if you go to "overview" and download the F200EXR "catalogue". It looks like it belongs in India, or maybe St Petersburg, but my google-fu is weak.

(It does say at the bottom of the page, "Sample photos are simulated images", but I don't think that means they just knocked it up in Povray...)

Well, the mural depicts Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, so I'm guessing Spain. Possibly a Gaudi?

There appear to be hundreds of those little murals in the plaza, so they might not all be spanish.

Something about the building looks TERRIBLY familiar, like I've seen it used in a movie.

Hm. Any chance the halls with the colums were used as Naboo in one of the Star Wars prequels?

Yup, I totally nailed it. Was used in Attack of the Clones. And you were right, it's in Spain.

Oooh, well-spotted. I thought the tiling looked a bit Moorish-Spanish. (And that could possibly be a red-and-yellow Spanish flag flying over it.) It's not a Gaudi, though, 'cos it's not in the big book of Gaudi's complete works that I've got.

Ah, well done Tony! You know, I even thought it looked a bit like the Star Wars courtyard, but got sidetracked when I found a site claiming that all the Naboo exteriors were digital...

Yeah, it's not art nouveau enough for Gaudi either.

Been there. I'd link to my photos but my gallery software's offline at the moment.

They were definitely digitally enhanced -- several of the exteriors in the film have extra domes and turrets compared to the real buildings.

When my wife and I honeymooned in Lake Como, Italy, we saw this villa from the prequels. It's almost digitized to the point where I wonder why they wasted the money to go there (other than the fact that it's gorgeous in real life).

Actually, the same place was used in Casino Royale (when Bond is recovering from his torture). There's also a villa further north that was used for the final scene in that movie.
