With all the new columns in Emplode we really need to have full row select turned on for the list view controls. Without full row select you can't see which track you are dealing with once you scroll right.

Nah, you just need a huge high-rez screen.

"Fix it in hardware".

Alternate colouring, the ability to select a track by clicking on any part of the row, having the track name stay in the left part of the window (split panes) would all go well here.

It's a standard Windows list view. It doesn't do that kind of stuff without help.

It should do full row highlighting without an extra help, which is what we need and what I asked for.

If you want me to dig out the details let me know, I seem to remember you just send it a message.

Removed in the next release -- it won't let you use the mouse to drag-select items if this is turned on. Turned it off.

If you have full-row select on, can you still use Shift and Ctrl for multiple selections?

Also, can you still do a drag-select in a mode other than Detail mode?

If so, then I think full-row select is still a good idea.

Could you not make it a preference Roger ?

Using the grids is a real problem without full row select, it is impossible for my eyes follow a line all the way across the screen, especially when you have to scroll it.

I'm considering using alternate-row colouring on the view.

Unfortunately, drag-select is something that I use often enough that it was getting annoying.

You're a star Roger.

Now Rob, if we could just have the next release...

And, in case anyone wants to know how to do this in their own Windows applications, details are at http://www.differentpla.net/~roger/devel/tips/win32 (along with how to do the other groovy new feature -- tooltips when you drag the scroll thumb).

Also the FAQ has documented how to alter the row color in 2.0b7 and later. I actually stuck it in there before 2.0b7 was released and hoped no one would notice it. But now that 2.0b7 is out, I can tell you about it.

Yeah, thanks. I tried it while I was using 2.0b3 and spent the rest of the weekend going through tape backups trying to restore my registry.

Bruno

Yeah, just kidding. :) You had a few things in the FAQ that predated the public betas that finally contained those items.
