The info screen shows - Plays: 0 ... [43/1256]

Shut down player in the car while tune #43 is playing.

Hook up the AC & ethernet, run Emplode, delete 20 tunes (not played, but in the current playlist) & sync.

Restart player and the info screen shows - Plays: 20 ... [43/1236]

Interesting. Makes you think there's some sort of mismatch with the "plays" count and and which song it's being assigned to.

Either that or it's just a screen refresh bug and it will go away if you track-forward and track-back.

Either way, let's see if the Empeg guys have anything to say about it?

My only counter problem is brand new.. I had the known problem that my player no longer responded to any of the controls.. I had to pull my player from the dash to fix it. Well, my player responds now but my counter no longer seems to count. Even after rebooting..

I tried it again with same results. The play count is "permanent" - it shows up in Emplode and when you dock it back in the car.

I've also had the play counts on some tracks magically changed too but I didn't delete any tracks. I don't know when it happened exactly but I know it was within the past few days. I'm running 2.0b7 and Hijack.

Yes, I noticed this morning that it had happened to me too. Again, 2.0b7 and Hijack.

Looks like the cause of this is the player trying to restart the music after every file is deleted. And it happens even if the current playlist is not being affected. Here is what my serial port caught while emplode was deleting 47 files:

From my player managment today, I have one song at 150 plays, and this one at 47 now :-)

Is there a way to reset the number of plays counter for a song without deleting the song from the player?
