I received my 60 GB Rio Car (blue) yesterday and get nothing but logo screen and it's really frustrating. Tried upgrading S/W and now i get "No hard disk found Contact Support" with a Penguin which made my day! :-) I am fairly competent computer and hardware wise but not willing to open unit for Warranty sake yet.I have e-mailed support and waiting to hear back but I'm getting ICE installed on Tuesday so looking for quick fix.

Hyperterminal gives me the following but means little to me:

empeg-car bootstrap v1.02 20001106 ([email protected])
If there is anyone present who wants to upgrade the flash, let them speak now,
or forever hold their peace...it seems not. Let fly the Penguins of Linux!

Almost certainly disk cable. Contact David at [email protected] or [email protected] (I think).

Welcome aboard!

Bonzi

Thanks for the reply, have sent e-mail to [email protected] so guess I'll just have to wait to hear back from them. Wish I had found this BBS earlier, would have saved myself 7 hours swearing at machine :-) Think I'll go and tidy up my MP3's while I wait, not much else to do.

Cheers

Temp=00 is no biggie. Dunno what it normally reads at boot time, but even afterwards it doesn't work on a lot of players. Which is why it's not used for anything (Hijack can use it a little, but..).

Heck.. the temp sensor on my Mk2a just died a couple of nights ago. Oh Well, didn't need it anyways.

Cheers
