Any hijack hackers listening? Feature request coming.............

I'd love to have a tone generator that's selectable from the menu. For example, I could have my empeg put out a 0dB 1Khz tone so I can adjust the gains on my amps.

There's already (userland) linux source available: http://www.lns.com/papers/tonegen/tonegen.c It's probably just a matter of calling it from hijack. I admit I'm too [lazy/unfamiliar with hijack] to do it myself, but if there are any bored programmers reading, this would be a great feature!! :-) :-) :-)

For that matter, there's an in-kernel tone generator already on the player. Just need a menu entry (or button) to trigger one.

I have loaded a test cd(autosound 2000 CD104 http://www.autosound2000.com/Products/cds/index.htm )with 40hz 100hz 400hz 1khz 4khz 8khz tones at various levels 0db,-5db,-10db,-15db to acomplish the same thing.Actually i havent put it on the player yet so i dont know how it will work.

Yeah, but we just used "Tone: " in the menu!

you might use something like cool edit to generate tone mp3's...
