I was thumbing through a Crutchfield catalog this evening, and I saw something that made me do a double-take.

Doesn't this look suspiciously like the Kenwood remote with a different printed membrane on top of it?

Do you suppose that Kenwood and Rockford Fosgate are getting their remotes from the same third-party supplier? I wonder who that is?

If it's true, it seems to me that buying remote controls from Kenwood at retail prices would be more expensive than working out a deal with whoever their supplier is. I mean, I don't know anything about this stuff, so this is just conjecture.
