Exactly. We had a buzzing drier in a house where the laundry closet was just outside the baby's room. While my wife was still pregnant, I dismantled that sucker and terminated that buzzer with extreme prejudice.

Fortunately my newest house has a drier with an on/off switch for the buzzer.

Who in their right mind would design a drier without a defeatable buzzer? The people responsible for that particular design "decision" have a special hell reserved for them, a hell where, when they sleep, every time they get to the deepest, most relaxed part of their sleep cycle, they are awakened by just such a buzzer. Every single time.
