The 7 is an open-top sports car that's rather rare and specialist. It looks a lot like those old '60s-era cigar-shaped indy cars. If you've ever seen the old TV show "The Prisoner", the main character drives one during the opening credits.
His problem is that the car gets dirty when he drives it, so he spends all his free time washing it. And he can't resist driving it.
Think of the red Ferrari in Ferris Bueller's day off. Remember how Cameron was so worried about it because his dad "never drives it, he just wipes it with a diaper." Well, that's the sort of thing we're talking about here.
