Thing is that it uses special hard drives designed for automotive use. Laptop drives are tougher than normal 3.5" for laptop use, but these drives are another level tougher again over laptop drives. Currently they only come in 16GB as far as I am aware, otherwise I'm sure Alpine would offer larger models.
