I won't even try to make a list in light of what's already been posted. But definitely check out some track from Bjork's album Medula. The (almost) only instrument is the human voice. Since I've heard that the voice is one of the hardest sounds to record and reproduce, that may give a good test. "Where Is The Line" and "Oceania" are good tracks.
