I occasionally feel like I don't have enough gold to really continue building at a pace that matches the increasing number and power of enemies, but for the most part it seems pretty well balanced.
Some levels definitely need to be revisited with better firepower, and I've been through the full thing twice using different powerup plans to get a feel for it. The penultimate level was the hardest - Boss Ninjas take a lot of damage...some interesting tactics required to ensure the right towers have the right strength.
