There's nothing out there that even comes close in fact.

When version 8 introduces the new database schema things are going to be even better for people with esoteric collections and requirements. It can satisfy a lot of sorting/display organizational requirements now, but the next major version should be able to satisfy absolutely everyone from a technical standpoint.

As far as playback quality is concerned, that's not even up for discussion. It's been the best for a long time.
