I'll definitely keep using the MOCA adapters.

It seems like the MOCA technology is still being used in special purpose hardware like FIOS routers or satellite receivers, but the idea of just using a standalone MOCA box as a replacement for ethernet never caught on for some reason. That's one of the great mysteries of the universe in my opinion, because my experience is just like yours: the adapters are bulletproof, brain-dead simple, and fast. Far different than powerline ethernet.

Anytime I've heard someone mention that they need to get networks from point A to point B without existing ethernet, I recommend MOCA, but without a good direction to point them in for how to get the adapters.
