For me, yes. (vs. WRT54GL).


Oh, actually, the "N" part isn't that important to me here. The other bigger reasons for the upgrade are (1) GigE wired ports on the LAN side, and (2) more horsepower to cope with a faster broadband internet connection.

Our cable internet here bursts at 50+ mbits/sec, which will double to 100+ mbits/sec sometime in the next 6 months or so. The WRT54GL *might* (?) struggle with that depending upon other features enabled at the same time.

And our LAN here is now all GigE speeds for coping with huge media files, so having the router's built-in LAN switch also operate at GigE gives us a few extra high-speed ports to play with.

The triple antennas (built-in) in the new router also seem to help a bit with signal quality, offset by them being "built-in" rather than external.
