I think this was in reply to me. Padding wise, it's not as thick as others, however it's got padding on the inside seperator to protect from anything in the pockets on the other side. And the portion of the bag on the outside of that compartment that rests on ones back is also extra padded. Both for comfort and protection of the laptop.
