It's not a fear issue
Well, the thing is that it is for me. I don't really mind the flying itself so much; it's mostly the takeoff and landing that bother me. And the turbulence. But while I'm flying, I'm constantly worried about the upcoming landing and the possible turbulence. I get freaked out. I'm usually a real white-knuckle flyer. I expect that my arms will be dead tired after that 8 hour flight. In some ways, a long flight will actually be better, as I'll be able to get involved in something consuming.

Boy, I sure am convincing someone to fly with me....
