Sorry, this may have been a matter of my not being precise enough...
There IS a jumper on the secondary drive, just not on the primary. The player has been working fine until just the past few days, and since the problem started, they have been intermittent. Until yesterday, that is.
Now that I think about it, I have had VERY slight problems with the player hanging when starting to play random tracks (by that I mean there is no pattern to the affected tracks). It would sit at "0:00" for a few seconds before starting. Hrmm..
Either way, my drive cables was one of the notorious "bad crimp" ones, which is how I fixed the "No Hard Drive" problem before. So I should replace it either way. And if it turns out that that doesn't fix it, I'll replace both drive with something 100s.
