``Prick'' is used as slang for the penis in the US, as well. Reminds me of a bad joke:

Little girl goes up to her mom and says ``Mom! I've got a splinter in my finger! Get some apple juice!'' To which her mother replies ``Apple juice?''. And the little girl says ``Yeah -- big sister says whenever she gets a prick in her hand, she puts it in cider.''
