wrt track points. I wonder if now is the time to consider what we might eventually want to see gpsapp write out to disk. Considering that it has to run 'root' anyway, getting gpsapp to remount /programs0 (or /programs1 if it exists) should be trivial.

Although track points are the last thing I'd want written out to disk, I could envision some other things it might write out to disk that would be useful...

Is it possible to write out the almanac data to the disk (only when I say so from a menu item) and then feed it back into the GPS at boot up? Does the GPSapp even get the almanac data or is that only internal to the GPS?
