Well, I have no idea what its checksum is, since I'm not running linux and I don't have that option. The "download" command I used is the win32 command-line kernel downloader that Bobo supplied me to go with the bootup-picture kernel.

I'm guessing that my Netscape browser did the same thing to the .zimage file that it did to the .upgrade files because the MIME types weren't set.

Plea for everyone on the planet offering files to download for any reason: Zip the files (or Arj or Rar or whatever). Even if the zipping doesn't save any disk space or bandwidth. Reasons: 1. No MIME problems. 2. When you unzip them, that's a built-in integrity check. If it unzips successfully with no errors, you can be certain it's a good file.

This goes for your .upgrade files, too, Empeg guys.
