I think the way it works is double and even triple albums are legal as long as they're albums and not compilations or box sets. I don't think it would have been fair if I brought my "Shine On" box set from Pink Floyd and tried to pass it off as one of my 10 "albums." But when one piece of work spans multiple discs, you gotta allow it. "Albums" are media-agnostic.
