I understand that. Most people I know who have a high-deductible plan do NOT have the HSA and it is a lot more painful for them, so I'm under no illusions that my situation is typical. I know I have it good.

I am largely uninformed about what is being pushed to whom, so I'm not making a political statement here or saying that high-deductible plans are the answer to anything. The extent of my point is that I see good things coming out of this system and people who are on it making better choices.It feels less broken than my previous health care plan and therefore a step in the right direction.
