Ok, I am now thinking there must be some other problem here.

It seems that every time I do a Sync "after a while", the process stops when uploading the playlists. The Sych eventually times out. So I need to go through this:

ro
umount /dev/hda4
umount /dev/hdc4
swapon /swapfile
fsck -fay /
fsck -fay /dev/hda4
fsck -fay /dev/hdc4
swapoff /swapfile sync

as you suggested, everything seems to be ok and I can upload all the mp3s I need to: some times 2 mp3s, some times 3 or 4 albums.

Then weeks pass by, and when I try to upload mp3s, I'm back at the beginning. I can't figure out what this can be.

I am using emplode 2.00 final with Alpha 7. Now that I think about it, could that be a problem? As a matter of fact, I've been doing this since I installed Alpha7, until very recently, when I upgraded to a 100Gb drive. Since that time on, I've been going through the problem described above.

Any help is appreciated, of course. Thank you in advance.

Edit:
In emplode, I get this error when "Uploading PLaylists":
Task: initializing
Warning: %anyplaylistname% could not be synchronized., Connection timed out (Error 0x8004003e)

"Estimating Trasnfer Size" completes successfully.
"Uploading Tunes" instead gives me the same error as "Uploading PLaylists"

This happens with Ethernet connection. I am realtively sure it happened in USB too, but I may be wrong since I very rarely use USB.
