You do realise that the Mac has directory trees, filenames and extensions just the same as Windows, right ? And that Windows by default hides extensions, just like the Mac does by default. And Windows hides a whole* load of folders/files from the user by default.

If you created that same structure on the Mac, it would work just the same way as on Windows.

There are plenty of things you'd find are different on the Mac, but the items you've picked out are the same on both wink

P.S. I'm not in any way encouraging you to try switching, I know you are happy with Windows

* in fact Windows actually hides more folders from the user than OSX does, far more (basically two folders are hidden from a normal user on the Mac)
