Mmmm.. back in the house, it does spew some BT output, and even offers to pair "empeg-car" with my Android phone! I wonder if I just have to figure out my car's head unit a bit more then.
In the car, I see: INQUIRY 30 and then a big long pause and nothing really useful. But back in the house, talking to my phone rather than the car, there's all of the nice diagnostics I was expecting, like this:
